You know what feature would be great ......the ability to have a gradient follow a curve outward...similar to the pic where it would flow with the shape of the origin line ...so maybe you could set a linear gradient and then adjsut it using handles and nodes......similar to a line....maybe it already exists and I am an inexperienced user.....could be that too

A gradient mesh is already on the Affinity Designer roadmap for inclusion in v1.x  (ie before v2.0)

 

This would allow the effect that you describe - and many other too!

Would nice to have gradients on a path too as in illustrator.
