How to Remove Tan Lines Tutorial or Advice ?

Hi Guys .... 

 

I am brand spanking new here and have been using Affinity for a short while. 

 

I am having difficulty in removing tan lines from pictures and getting a seamless skin colour continuity. 

 

Could somebody kindly point me to a Tutorial or how to register a request for one ?

Affinity what? 

 

That is one of the hardest things to do in any photo editing program, although it will be easier in Photo than Designer.

 

There is no easy method and no tutorials AFAIK. You just have to select the tan (or not tanned) areas one by one and adjust them using one or more adjustment layers.

 

If you post an image it might be possible to help a bit more.

In Photo you can select the tan line and then from the Edit menu choose fill and then the inpainting option to replace the tan line with the surrounding tanned skin tone

Please note that inpainting (via the Edit menu or using the Inpainting Brush Tool) will only work on a pixel layer. If your picture is designated as an ‘Image’ layer in the Layers panel, you need to right-click it there and choose the ‘Rasterize...’ option.

You may laos try freq separation and clone and/or fix brush. Just need to use proper values.

I shall give both methods a try .....  the Inpainting Fill seems to work okay on thin tanlines but larger ones nearer clothing are a little hit and miss.
