Removal of earlier versions after latest update

Recommended Posts

I have installed two updates (Windows 10) since the original installation of Affinity. I note that, after installing the update, the earlier downloaded files are left in the folder where I place my downloads. Having updated to 1.6.1.93, is it OK if I delete program downloads for earlier versions of Affinity? There is already getting on for 1 GB of data in this folder, and I would sooner recover the space if earlier installation files can be deleted. Thanks. Bart.

You can delete the installer files you downloaded for older versions of Affinity programs.  If need be you can always download them again, but I very much doubt you'll need to.

Keep:
affinity-photo-1.6.1.93.exe
affinity-designer-1.6.1.93.exe

Delete:
affinity-photo-1.6.0.89.exe
affinity-photo-1.5.2.exe
affinity-photo-1.5.1.exe
affinity-photo-1.5.0.exe

affinity-designer-1.6.0.89.exe
affinity-designer-1.5.3.exe
affinity-designer-1.5.2.exe
affinity-designer-1.5.1.exe
affinity-designer-1.5.0.36.exe

You could even delete the 1.6.1.93 installer file after installing the software if you really wanted to, however I tend to keep the latest versions of software installers so I can re-install them if need be without needing to download them again.

how to erase old affinity software as I have now installed photo 2 onto iPad.

You can remove it like you'd remove any other iPad app. For example,  long-press on the app's icon and choose Remove App.
