Well, it could be done but you are really stretching the limits of any software with that image. Affinity Photo would do it as well as anything else. Which is to say with great difficulty.

 

A mixture of adjustments, curves, levels, exposure and so forth. There is no easy way, just trial and error.

 

 

 

 

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

I had a bit of a play with the image... it is certainly tricky. Was able to get a reasonable match for the area obscured by the glare on the soldier, but as soon as that was fixed, it highlighted the light spill on the stonework, and the secondary reflections in the stained glass itself.

 

Would be a lot of work to fix it all!

A quick attempt (on the soldier) using Inpainting and cloning.

To do it professionally would take several hours.

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

with a whole lot of time and patience i think it can be done.

a quick attempt , played around with blend modes and the clone brush.
