You may be able to achieve what you want using text on a path.

In my example I used Windings 3 font, character "p" which is a black triangle.

You can adjust the Horizontal Scale, Baseline etc in the Character panel to adjust the shape, size and position of the triangles.

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Maybe with custom brushes, effects or some kind of trick, maybe?

In theory, Stroke Pressure would work to a degree.
As long as you don't convert to curves or don't export as vector.

In practice, convert to curves/vector export currently looks like this:

Also, as long as it's an ellipse, you can use the Star Tool. You can define as many star points you want (default is 5) by typing into the corresponding context toolbar field.

Naturally. Why on earth would you want to convert to curves or export as vector in a vector drawing application? 🤣
