Preferences Causing Crash

Recommended Posts

Good Morning,

I'm a dedicated user and supporter of Affinity products.  Keep up the excellent work.  Need some help.  Affinity Photo 1.6.6 crashes each time I attempt to open preferences.  Any suggestions or is app delete and re-download my only option?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Paul

this is an issue with the stored plug in list we create not being read properly. The team or working on sorting this for the future but you can solve this by running the app with ctrl held down and making sure only reset user defaults is ticked and pressing clear. This will reset you plug in list so you will need to add them again but it should stop the crash

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the rapid response.  I tried starting the app with the with the control key held down with no change. The app still crashed.  I wanted to be sure that I understood your instructions so I also tried the command key and the option key.  None of these worked to solve the problem.  I don't believe that I mentioned that I'm on a Mac Book Pro, in case that makes a difference.  I haven't run into any other problems yet with the 1.6.6 update.

Thanks, Paul

11/18/2017 Update:

Thanks, Chris,
I went back and methodically worked through your fix and I finally understood what you were telling me to do and it worked.  It sometimes takes a while to get things through my thick head.  Thanks again, Chris
