Edo75
One neat feature in Illustrator is to set a layer as a template, so it stays visible (with Dim percentage) in Outline mode to draw onto. Is there anything like this in Designer?
gdenby
Hi, Edo75, I haven't used AI for years, so I had to look some stuff up. AD doesn't have a dialogue for this. Working in vector view, the layer used as template can be locked, and made partially opaque. When exporting, turn off visibility, and the template layer is not included in the export. Edo75
Hi, With this method I still couldn't work in Outline mode (wireframe) to see my reference image at the same time, that's the most important part. In vector view when you add objects, fill and so on, you reference image ends up being hidden.
Alfred
If you don't want new objects to obscure the reference image in Vector view mode, put the reference image on top of the vector layers instead of underneath. By setting its opacity to 50% or 40% you'll be able to see the layers that you're working on, and if you lock it you won't accidentally move it while you work. Edo75
It's what I made, it's a good workaround. Regards Alfred
