dkaiser
Affinity Publisher 2018 - Correct Date Source: https://affinity.serif.com/de/about/ Again the date shifted ... every year the same. I have corrected it to the correct year. Have fun Diller, danilo and janndk

GarryP
Personally I would prefer to wait until it's ready, and if that's going to be 2018 now then that's fine with me. Better to try software when it's in a usable state rather than use a really buggy early version that will put you off using it for life. Having said that, it would be nice if we could get some kind of static preview of what it might look like and what sort of features it is expected to have. All we have at the moment is: "Wait and See...". 000, SirPL and furtonb
dkaiser
Well, there is no information about Publisher, no development video or screenshot. The only thing you know that was promised at the end of this year the beta and just this entry at about us. The entry is adjusted once or twice a year for years. Well, everyone is waiting for it and finally hope that there is good news. A short info video or developer screenshots would be helpful. Helpful, however, would be if Affinity lives up to the promises. At this time, my correction is valid Diller
GarryP
I can understand your frustration in seeing release dates being repeatedly pushed into the future. (I like Douglas Adams' quote about deadlines: He loved the whooshing sound they made as they flew past.) On the other hand, giving a product a set-in-stone launch date and then just shipping whatever you have to hand can give users a whole lot of hurt. See http://www.pcgamer.com/the-worst-pc-game-launches/ for some examples of this. Just from reading this forum I can see that a lot of people - including myself - have high hopes for Publisher so, even for the beta version, I think the Affinity team are doing the right thing by holding it back until its really ready. I don't want to try something that has been thrown together just to satisfy people's appetite to see something. I want to try something that's going to make me say: "Yes! This is what I want to buy." I think that if the team gave one or two screenshots and a short list of the lovely features the software is going to have, that might help to lower the frustration levels a bit. v_kyr
Well in 2030 I would expect that one of course to come along with a holographic VR interface and also some mind/speech recognition control. However my advice would be (as always), for now and yet if it's really urgent, to look instead around for other already existing and available publishing software here. - So to say, other camps do deal with such software too...! retrograde
Personally I'd like to see Designer and Photo remain the focus, nailing down all of those promised road map features before branching off the team onto a 3rd tier. Especially Designer. :-) SrPx and Pšenda 2 Quote http://www.kevincreative.com https://www.behance.net/kevincreative https://dribbble.com/kevincreative https://www.instagram.com/kevincreative/
