vinmunoz
Hi, First of all thanks for this new software. I'm a die-hard Photoshop user, since version 2(not CS2). Now I'm a sony shooter. I noticed that I cannot open the sony raw files(.ARW) with this beta version. Please include it when developing the develop module. With Sony's mirrorless(the A7 series) impact to the market, there's a growing number of Sony shooters now. I myself switched from Canon 5D Mark III to Sony A7R. thank you. Affinity looks great but without Sony RAW support I won't be using it. Idiata
fehmann
Also a verrrry long-time PS user. Like vinmunoz, the first thing I tried in the beta was opening a .ARW file. Opened a .NEF nicely and I would expect Sony's format to be added, correct? Idiata

Staff MEB Posted February 11, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 11, 2015 We will add more camera RAW formats during the beta's development. Currently there's also some problems loading some of the supported RAW formats. Andy has posted a note here, explaining the issue. Hopefully the situation will improve over the next betas. You can expect a new one early next week. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
PaolaC19
Hello, I have been using Affinity Photo happily for some time and had no issue opening ARW files from my Sony. But I tried to edit some photos today (still in .ARW) and it said it wasn't supported ! Have things just changed ? Why was I able to edit in the past and no longer ? I don't know what to do... I need to edit photos and export them in 300 pix. Using an alternative by editing on iPhone reformats them automatically to 72 pix ... Thanks for your help
Staff MEB Posted September 2, 2021 Staff Share Posted September 2, 2021 Hi @PaolaC19, Welcome to Affinity Forums As far as i know there wasn't changes here. You should still be able to open your RAW files if they were working previously. Is it possible you were using a different RAW engine before? Both macOS and iOS versions provide two engines: SerifLabs and Apple (Core Image RAW). Maybe after the update the setting switched to the other option? What OS are you using? macOS, iOS or Windows?
