It doesn't happen automatically with the upgrade. You have to "claim" the extras. To do it go to menu Help ▸ Welcome.... One of the pages of the horizontal scroller has a Claim Now button for the extras. Click on it to be redirected to the Affinity Store webpage. If you are using the Windows version or have bought the Affinity Designer Workbook through the Affinity Store you already have an account here. In this case just fill-in your credentials in the Existing Customer tab on bottom and you will be redirected to a page where you can download the extras. If you are a Mac user and didn't buy the Affinity Designer Workbook in the Affinity Store you probably don't have an account there (we only sell the Mac applications to the Apple Mac App Store which is not linked in any way with the Affinity Store). In this case you have to create a new account, filling in the details in the New to Affinity? tab on bottom to create a new account/complete the "extras" order.
