McBk889
Is there any way to copy a portion of and image or a shape and paste and distort via the mesh? Whenever I try to do this by creating a selection with the Smart Selection Brush or the Poly Marquee Tool it will copy the ENTIRE LAYER. How can I avoid copying the entire layer when all I wish to copy is the specific selection? Felipe Adan Lerma
Staff Callum Posted November 6, 2017 Staff Share Posted November 6, 2017 HI McBk889, Welcome to the forums Please could you make sure the layer is rasterised then try making your selection and copy and pasting? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
McBk889
Thank you Callum. it's very confusing and inconsistent that if you create a NEW document by IMPORT FROM PHOTOS, the image comes in form PHOTOS as a IMAGE layer, which needs to be RASTERIZED, but if you PLACE FROM PHOTOS (command in PHOTO Persona) in an existing document it creates a PIXEL layer by default. Very confusing. For those who wish to see step by step how to create a SELECTION, copy, paste and DISTORT the shape I have outlined the following steps: 1.open the image. It will default to a layer 2.Use PHOTO Command menu (…) to DUPLICATE layer 3.use SELECTIONS Persona to Polygon Marquee Tool (lasso) or Rectangular Marquee Tool to create a selection 4.use PHOTO Persona Command menu (…) to COPY your selection 5.use PHOTO Persona Command menu (…) to PASTE your selection. By default, a new layer is created. 6.use LIQUIFY Persona to distort the shape 7.within LIQUIFY Persona to go to HAND icon (VIEW TOOL). This will bring up the APPLY and CANCEL prompts at bottom of page
