Layer Panel preferences

Am I, or is Affinity Photo and Designer (windows) missing something here ?

 

In the help files.

 

To disable Auto-scroll:

• On the Layers panel, click Panel Preferences and uncheck Auto-scroll.

 

 

er, what Panel Preferences ?  

 

for that matter, what auto-scroll ?

If it is like the Mac version, it is the "Auto-scroll to show selection in Layers panel" item in Preferences > User Interface (not "Panel Preferences").

Ah, yes. It's not called "Auto-scroll" at all but Show Selection in Layer Panel does work. In fact it is nothing like the Help file description.

So what the function of the "Auto-scroll to show selection in Layers panel" item in preferences > User Interface now? In Affinity Photo 1.6.6 on my iMac it makes no difference if it is checked or not; only the new Layers menu item has any effect.

 

Do you see something different?

That does not happen for me. The Layers panel menu item is not affected by the setting in the app Preference in any way. Weird!
