carlocalope
hi folks! just downloaded the beta of affinity photo -- looks sleek and awesome, opens files pretty quickly too! but i work mostly on layered tif files and saw that when i open tif files on affinity photo, the layers are gone... i did try to see if it's the same with psd, but with psd files, all the layers show up. anyway, i've been trying to search this forum for someone who noticed the same thing but haven't had any luck yet! hope to hear from someone soon! thanks! Slovoflud
Hello! Could you please provide an approximate time for when the layered Tiff support is coming? I'm trying to convince my managers to switch my team of designers to affinity products and our whole library (dozens of current projects) are all in layered Tifs. That's terabytes of svn versioned data. No way to easily convert everything to PSDs. Also, are there any discounts when buying in bundles? Staff MEB Posted September 24, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 24, 2015 Hi Slovoflud, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) No timeframe defined sorry. This depends on how development goes.., there's always some bumps on the way and we may miss the timeframe and disappoint everyone. It will be available as soon as it's ready. Staff Ben Posted September 25, 2015 Staff Share Posted September 25, 2015 We are looking into multi layered TIFF. The main issue is that multi-layer TIFF is actually an Adobe hack (technically a third party addition, since it does not form part of the TIFF standard). We are looking at supporting multi-layer TIFF for Affinity, since the Adobe method will not preserve our Document Model accurately. This would mean a round trip of a layered TIFF with a DAM would result in changes to file between opening times. More news soon, once we have figured it out. bjurasz
Thanks for the update. If I have a layered TIFF file should I open it in Photoshop and save it back as a psd file then? ntarvin@ebookgraphics.com
IT'S BEEN 5 YEARS!!!! - how much longer do we have to wait????? It seems to me that if Sketchbook Pro can work with tiff layers, you should be able to. I'm sorry I ever spent the money to buy all the Affinity products
