Bobaffinity
I just downloaded AF and AP 1.6. Now whenever I quit the programs I get a screen that says the program quite unexpectedly. I turned off my computer and restarted. The same thing happens. What can I do to stop this from occurring? Thanks, Bob

Staff Callum Posted November 2, 2017 Staff Share Posted November 2, 2017 When you close the app are you going to Affinity Photo > Quit or are you using the red X at the top right of the app? Staff Callum Posted November 2, 2017 Staff Share Posted November 2, 2017 Thank you, I can't seem to replicate this behaviour on my machine and I haven't heard anyone else reporting this would it be possible for you to uninstall and then reinstall the app to see if that solves your issue? Bobaffinity
OK, I'll give it a shot. Thanks, Bob
Bobaffinity
Well, that didn't solve the issue. Do you think I could do any long-term harm if I simply ignore this? I certainly don't want to corrupt any files. Thanks for your help, Callum Bob

R C-R
5 hours ago, Bobaffinity said: I clicking on Quit on the bar at the bottom of the screen. Do you mean the Dock (the bar at the bottom of the screen that has Finder on one end & the Trash on the other)? If you right-click on the AP or AD icon in the Dock, the last item in the pop-up menu is Quit. For me, that quits either app normally without any 'quit unexpectedly' notice, just like using the application File menu > Quit method or the CMD+Q keyboard shortcut. If for you the File menu & keyboard shortcut methods work normally but only the Dock one does not, it could mean the link in the Dock icon to the app is corrupted or pointing to the wrong thing. In that case, removing the icon from the Dock (it is an option in the popup) & replacing it with a fresh link may resolve this issue. (To do that, either drag the app icon from the Applications folder onto the Dock or when the app is running, use the popup option "Keep in Dock" to keep it from disappearing when the app quits.) If instead you get the notice no matter how you quit the app, this could mean a third party utility you have installed is interfering with quitting the app properly. Bobaffinity
R C-R, you never cease to amaze me! Your depth of knowledge is always very helpful. I ran all the options you mention and still things aren't working correctly. Everything was working just fine until I updated to 1.6. I've not added any new programs, made adjustments, etc. I deleted the apps and re-downloaded but that did not help. So I'm wondering if the fact that I'm on Lion 10.7.5 could be an issue. Also, I'm not getting any notices on my welcome screen for the bonus downloads. So I'm not sure what to do or where to go next. Appreciate all the help and comments, Bob
