Equalize sky in stitched panoramas

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have recently made a few panoramas in which I stitched several photos together in Affinity Photo. After editing, I noticed that the sky clearly shows the stitches, by a slight bias towards magenta on one side of the original image, and towards cyan on the other side. This is pretty noticeable even on darker images.

Does anyone have any tips how I can smoothen this out?

It's not a problem I've come across, but setting a consistent colour temperature before merging the images might help.  For future reference, it's a good idea to shoot panoramas with manual exposure and white balance so that the camera doesn't make unwanted adjustments.

Just guessing, but I suspect the apparent bias is at least in part caused by the color of the scattered sunlight being different in different parts of the sky. In other words, the sky color actually varies across the shots in the panorama & Affinity's stitching preserves that.
