Round Trip to Lightroom Mobile

Recommended Posts

Just got an iPad Pro and my FIRST purchase was Affinity photo to go along with my Lightroom Mobile.

I can use Lightroom and then “Open In” and send it to Affinity, but I have no idea how to send it “back” to lightroom along side the original in the catalog?

Photoshop Mix and other applications have a “save back to Lightroom” option.

As far as I can see, it takes it to Affinity, but it doesn't put it back in the lightroom catalog?  Is that correct?

Thanks!

Hi Sees The Day,

If you go to the Export screen then look towards the bottom left of the window you should see a share button, one of the options in this share button should be Copy to LightRoom this will do what you are looking for :)

Thanks

Callum

So, amazingly, I’m just getting to this now.

That does work, however, when I decide to edit another photo , from Lightroom mobile to affinity photo, it doesn’t work at first because affinity is still on the export screen.

So, I have to “cancel” the export, go BACK to Lightroom mobile, and do an “open in” for the 2nd time, and choose affinity photo to get it there.

Photoshop Fix app has a handy “save and return to Lightroom” bar at the top.  Any chance of implementing something like that so make the round trip cleaner?

Or, is there a way around the current issue that I'm describing?

Thanks so much for the help!

Once you have the Export screen open you have to either OK or Cancel to get out of the screen. There is no other option.:)

Well, after I "Share it" back to Lightroom Mobile, the application focus goes back to Lightroom.

I would then have to go BACK to Affinity, close out the screen, and then go BACK to Lightroom in order for Affinity to be "ready" for the next image I send to it from Lightroom.

It would be a GREAT option , when sharing to another application, to "share and close" so I didn't have prep Affinity for the next time I sent it an image.

Thanks for any support with this you can provide.

Yes, it is a pity that AP on iPad only handles one project at a time. It would be nice even to just have it automatically close the current focus/project (which saves it) and open the new image being shared to it. As it is we need to manually close project before sharing any new one.
