How Can I improve the clone effect?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to clone a section of a photograph to remove an unwanted area but the clone area is not an accurate representation of the source part.

Image 1 is the subsection of a larger image where I am trying to clone the dark area at the far right hand side, image 2 is an iPad screenshot showing the effect of using clone which to me is in no way accurate.

Have others experienced this issue?

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the file.

I've attached a screenshot where i've used the Clone tool before any adjustments are applied, which has done a good job.  If you have applied a black and white adjustment layer, just untick it and then use the clone tool and it should do a better job or do the cloning before you apply the Black and White effect
