You can use the Rounded Rectangle Tool to create a square with rounded corners. To make it square instead of oblong, hold down the Shift key as you drag out the shape on the canvas.

With the round-cornered square selected, go to the Effects panel in the Studio, expand the 'Bevel / Emboss' section and adjust the Radius (and the Opacity, if required) to get the effect you want. For finer control, click on the 'Layer Effects' gearwheel on the right to display a dialog with additional options.

Try playing with the ‘Azimuth’ and ‘Elevation’ settings for the effect.

Hi,

I started w. the same basic approach, adding 3d, bevel/emboss fx. Started duplicating the rounded rectangle. shifting it a bit to the side to fake thickness.  Finally decided that the original had highlights that were drawn on. So I made several pen lines, varied the strok pressure, set different levels of blur  and opacity. Came up w. something close.

Inserted a wrong version of the image, can't seem to delete it. The first example is not finished...

Hello gdenby,

That is awesome. Sadly way passed my skill set.

How easy would it be to insert the attached logo into it and if so, would there be a charge?

Best,

Clive

lizziebenson,

Attached, a shot of the logo inserted. No charge. Took like 5 minutes, maybe less.

If you want the actual file, your price will be this: I'll let you have the button, but you have to figure out how toinsert the logo yourself.

Got to go work on a house remodeling project new.

Well, you did it. As the saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

It seems to me that getting rid of the drop shadow makes sense if you also want to get rid of the dark background. The current design flavors favors flat, so the illusion of 3-d is seen as distracting if it for anything that is a click point.
