Mechanics of purchasing Affinity Photo for PC

Recommended Posts

HI,

I am about to purchase a license for Affinity Photo.   I have been reading this forum and have learned a lot. However I've seen posts regarding purchasing that are likely only for the MAC/iPad but I need to ask.

My questions are:

  1. If I purchase a license for Affinity photo (PC) will I be able to download the program in whole?  Or is there an app store?  Or is there a download/install manager?
  2. Is the license a number / a file / a password to log on the Affinity to activate?   I prefer something I can backup.

Thanks.

Once you've bought it you can log into your Affinity Account at any time (see link below), go to the 'Downloads & Product Keys' section and download the file.  It's just a normal 280MB exe file.

You use the email address you used to buy it and a 16-digit product key.  Therefore you can back it up or save it in something like a password manager if you want, as it's only text.

However, there's no real need to back up the product key. As the screenshot shows, both the Download button and the product key are available at any time from the 'Downloads & Product Keys' section.

When wiping a machine you don't need to download all your software installers again if you keep them locally along with the product keys.  It's a case of run the exe, copy and paste the product key.  Run the next exe, copy and paste the product key.  Etc.  There's no need to go to each software vendors website, get the product keys and download all that software again because you can do it all locally.
