AnneX
Saving an image from AF on iPad through iCloud (as a PSD) and then opening it in Photoshop on an iMac, the mask has no content. Is there a way to carry masks from AF to PS? Is this a bug that could be fixed?
Staff MEB Posted October 2, 2017 Staff Share Posted October 2, 2017 Hi AnneX, Welcome to Affinity Forums Can you give us ore details? Are you referring to layer masks in the Layers panel or masks saved as Spare Channels in the Channels panel? [EDIT] The iPad version does lost the Spare Channels when exporting to PSD. I'm logging this to be looked at. Can you confirm this is the issue you are referring to? AnneX
Talking about Layer Masks that are children of a specific layer. These come into PS as an empty layer.
Staff MEB Posted October 3, 2017 Staff Share Posted October 3, 2017 Hi AnneX, Drag the mask layer over the thumbnail (rather than over the area on the right which will clip it instead) ) of the pixel layer to nest it. Then export to PSD. The mask should be intact. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
AnneX
Meaning it's a bug? thx
AnneX
Now I've found that some masks will come over to PS. What does it mean when a mask thumbnail shows on the collapsed layer in AP? This mask came over to Photoshop. Another transfer snafu is that 3 level layers, that is a child of a child of a parent layer, does not transfer at all in PS. Thanks, -Anne
