paulinew
I have seen some posts about this from a couple of years ago, but cannot find an answer yet. Is it possible to duplicate just one segment of a curve for use on another layer? Sorry if this has been answered before and I have missed it. Staff MEB Posted September 28, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 28, 2017 Hello paulinew, Welcome to Affinity Forums No, currently it's not possible to duplicate a segment of a curve. You have to duplicate the whole curve and delete the parts you don't want: to break a curve on specific nodes (to isolate the segment you are interested in), select the Node Tool, click the node(s) you want to break and press the Break Curve button in the Action section in the context toolbar (one at once). After breaking the curve (isolating the segment) just delete the parts you are not interested in. You can set a shortcut for the Break Curve (and Join Curve) command(s) in Affinity Preferences, Keyboard shortcuts section - set the first dropdown to Photo or Draw depending on which application you are using Affinity Photo or Designer and the second to Node Tool. paulinew
Thank you for that - and for the tip about the shortcut. I am working through the workbook and am finding it extremely useful. Quote Pauline Affinity Designer 1.6.1.93; Windows 7 Professional
