Liquify Clone brush not working?

Recommended Posts

In the liquefy persona the clone brush is not working. It does nothing. I keep getting the little assistant box telling me I must press ALT to select a clone ounce. I have of course done that.

thanks

Hey Rick,

Are you applying any of the other Liquify tools beforehand? The Mesh Clone Tool just duplicates existing areas of a mesh. For example, if I use the Pinch Tool to make someone's eye bigger, I can use the Mesh Clone Tool to simply clone it to the other eye to make it the same size. These are the steps from the Help:

  1. Click the Liquify Clone Mesh Tool.
  2. Adjust settings on the Brush panel.
  3. Alt-click on the area of the mesh you wish to copy.
  4. Click on the area of the mesh to 'paste' the copied effect.
  5. Repeat the step above to apply the copied effect elsewhere on the image.

Step 4. states that you need to click on the area of the mesh, this means an area that has already had a mesh applied to it, e.g. the Pinch Tool.

Ok the error was on this end. I need to do actual "cloning" in the photo persona as in liquefy it only copies the effect from one place to another.

Noob error, please forgive
