Littletank
There are several categories each containing many macros in my library which, to save space and keep things orderly, I collapse. After closing the application and starting up again all the collapsed categories re-appear in the expanded form. Is there some setting, which I am missing, which will prevent this happening? R C-R
Nope. The developers have (as yet) not made this possible. Littletank
Thank you R C-R, so I might as well stop wasting my time in being tidy.
R C-R
As a (tedious) workaround to tidy up the Library panel somewhat I have done the following: 1. Exported each of the original Default & macro-pack categories (Distortions, Light Leaks, etc.) to a user folder as 'just in case' backups. 2. Created a new category. I named it "OEM" but any name suggesting 'original equipment' macros would do. 3. Experimented a bit with a few test files to determine which of the original macros I might find useful. 4. Dragged each of them from their original category into the OEM one. (It is a bit tricky to add the first macro to the empty OEM category -- you have to use the expand triangle to 'open' the category even though it is empty & very carefully position the macro just below the category name until a plus sign appears. After that, it is much easier to drag & drop others into the expanded category.) 5. After doing this for every macro in the original categories I wanted to keep, I deleted all the original categories, leaving me with just the OEM category & the few others I had created, in my case one for downloaded macros & the other for the ones I created. (I also back these up periodically.) 6. My final step was to reorder the categories so the one containing the macros I used most often was first in the list, to minimize the amount of scrolling/collapsing I have to do in daily use. It is far from a perfect solution but until/unless the developers make collapsed categories "sticky" between app launches it is the best I can do. Littletank
That is a good idea and it would only need doing once, I hope.
