For RawTherapee there is a nice collection of Hald Color Look-Up Tables, that i was missing in Affinity. So i started to programming and 400 Lines of c++ later, i had a nice converter...

Over 300 LUTs of (old) analog films (BW / Colour) and colour effects. Look at the attached ZIP-File. (80 MB compressed, uncompressed 365 MB)

The HaldCLUT LUT-Files are not created by me (one exception).
License (CC BY-SA 4.0) is included.

Have fun with it...

ps.
I am thinking about to relase the converter(Win/C++) (MIT-license) too. If you interessed, write me a message/post.

It's been asked I know - But never having used LUTs I need a step by step explanation of how to get these into AP? I know where the Adjustment LUTs tab is, but when double clicking and trying to load the LUTs from the menu I can't even see the files, so what am I missing? any help welcome?

OK! I found out how to load them as presets, but loading them one at a time is tedious, is there a batch load somewhere, or is single file naming all there is?

Hi @Willabong

I don't use Photo so this is from memory. But a few recommendations from me - I use LUT's A LOT in Photoshop. These profiles will often give the image an over-cooked look so here is how I would have used them in Photo.

  1. I would - one profile at the time - test it on some images. I would add a contrast layer, a vibrance layer and a highlight and shadow layer and adjust them individually. After a few tests I will figure an average out... fx best settings will be the LUT layer at 60% opacity, a contrast layer with -4 contrast and a highlight shadow layer that lifts he shadows a bit. Perhaps I would add a little vibrance. Whatever you feel makes the image look right. Averaged.
  2. With that knowledge I would record a macro that
    1. Adds the LUT layer with the above setting
    2. Adds the contrast layer with the above setting
    3. Adds the highlight-shadows layer with the above setting
    4. Adds the vibrance layer with the above setting
    5. Adds whatever layer you need
  3. I think (memory, perhaps I am wrong)
    1. You then have to add the macro to the library yourself (?)
    2. Have to group the LUT related layers manually (you don't have group them though)
  4. Repeat this macro-mania for each LUT you want to use on a regular basis
