Graeme14
I have just brought your product. I'm trying to get help to understanding some fairly basic things, like how do I get the same tool bar on my affinity as the one in the first tutorial. that's the one with inpaint on it. Do you have a proper help line?

Staff Sean P Posted September 22, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 22, 2017 Hi Graeme14, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! I've moved your posts to the Questions forum as it is a non-beta issue/question. I've also renamed your topic to something more appropriate to your question. The Inpainting tool can be found grouped with the Healing Brush tool. If you click and hold you will see a series of other tools on the flyout. See attached screenshot. This should allow you to use the Inpainting Tool as shown in the Getting Started video.
R C-R
In addition to what @Sean P said, note that there are two Affinity apps (Affinity Designer & Affinity Photo) so it is always a good idea to indicate in some way which one you are using in forum questions, & where applicable which specific tutorial(s) you have been viewing. This will enable others to understand much better exactly what you are having problems with & eliminate a lot of guesswork about the best way to reply to your questions. Assuming because you mentioned the Inpainting Brush Tool you are using Affinity Photo (& have viewed video tutorials for that app), note that it only appears in the Photo Persona -- each persona has its own set of tools. You can customize the tool panel individually for each persona (View menu > Customize Tools), so if you prefer, you can place the Inpainting Brush Tool on the tool panel in its own slot, independently of grouping it with the Healing Brush & other retouching tools. You can also give it a unique keyboard shortcut not shared with other tools so you do not even need to go to the tool panel to select it. nezumi
Shift+f5. Just like Photoshop. And use Photo not a Designer. Because this will not work in Designer exactly like it wouldn't work in Adobe Illustrator... Plus - first thing that shows up in google after typing "affinity inpaint tool" is a tutorial about it. It just cant be easier really... You need direct email from developers about it? Its just idea but maybe designing isn't your thing? Tried..? I don't know - singing? Good luck!
