AD - Ignoring Text Vertical Shift (SVG import)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

AD (Win ver. 1.5.3.69) when opening SVG files ignores the vertical shift of characters in a text... this renders some strange results (see the screenshot of the rendering of the attached file in Inkscape and in AD).

Hi alekwo

This seems to be more the output from inkscape than specifically our app. The objects in the SVG seem to be offest so it opens as transparent in other apps/browsers and does not appear properly. Even when inkscape opens the file it is quite offset. I recreated the file in AI and we read everything from that correctly including the skew applied to the text. Inkscape seems to inject it's own additional xml to help it recreate the file on open but this is not something other apps read

Cheers

Hi Chris,

thanks for checking this.

Just to make sure that we're on the same page - this is not really a "skew" on the text, but a vertical shift set for each character separately - I didn't want to have letters being rotated, but only shifted upwards. Maybe the font I used in my example is not the best to showcase this ;)
