If you are using the Windows version the corresponding key/modifier is the right mouse button (Windows offers only three modifier keys while Mac provides four thus the right mouse button choice). So to add to a selection (on Windows) hold down the right mouse button, then click and drag the left mouse button to add to the selection (keeping the right mouse button pressed).
