Aarnav
When I try to download my Affinity Designer from my Affinity Account, the link just times out, it won't let me download it. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question, it's my first post. Thanks, R9
Staff Chris B Posted September 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2017 Hey Aarnav, welcome to the Affinity Forums Have you tried a different browser? You can also try this alternative link - https://affinity.store/update/windows/designer/1/ Let me know how you get on. Aarnav
Tried the latest Firefox and Chrome; still times me out. I was able to download it once before(a couple of months back) and am unable to now.
Staff Chris B Posted September 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2017 Did you try that alternative link? How strange. If you right-click the link and choose Save Link As and choose a location, does that work? Aarnav
I did try the alternative link ,And the download registers when I use the 'Save Link As' method but, it attempts to download, and then throws an error : 'Failed - Network Error'. This is on Chrome. And I tried downloading all the versions, with the both methods.
Staff Chris B Posted September 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2017 Thanks for the update. We've had another report this morning so we'll have to get the team to look into a possible server issue. I'll update you once I hear anything. So sorry about this Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Aarnav
Any updates? It's been a while.
Staff Chris B Posted September 25, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 25, 2017 Hey Aarnav, I'm still surprised you're having trouble downloading this. The servers as far as I can tell are working fine and on the day you contacted us, we only had one other user report an issue. It's quite tricky to pinpoint a potential issue as the server uses multiple mirrors which should randomize each time you go to download the app. Do you have an alternative computer you can try and download it on? Or another network? If the public link I originally sent to you isn't working, nor is the link in your account the issue could be to do with your internet or possibly even anti-virus software—have you tried disabling that temporarily? I noticed you purchased the app a while ago so I wonder if for some reason it has expired (it shouldn't). Actually, scratch that. I forgot I sent you the general download link... I'm going to send you a PM so you can confirm some details for me.
