TEcHNOpls
Hi, when I import a DNG file from DxO optics 9 into AP I have strange colours switch. See attached file for problem and settings. TEcHNOpls
Also, it seems the exposure is a bit off. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
Staff Sean P Posted September 11, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 11, 2017 Have you tried adjusting the RAW settings in the Develop assistant? Trying setting Tone Curve to 'Take no action' and see what results you get. Also could you attach the DNG file please?
TEcHNOpls
Hi, With no curve it looks awful (see attached file). I'll send you the DNG file on priv. Also, I've just realized I can Import DNG into 32bit Thou I think 16bit is more than enough, once I finish it into 8bit web jpg. Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday I've had some other QA work to be getting on with. I've just checked my PMs however and there is nothing from you. TEcHNOpls
Try now. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
Staff Sean P Posted September 13, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 13, 2017 I don't see any colours that are being switched, however I can see the DxO one is slightly more contrast and saturation though. Is that what you are reporting?
TEcHNOpls
For me it's saturation/lightness and a bit of a blueish hue. Look at the reds on the dress. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
TEcHNOpls
All in all, I have to do colour balance after importing DNG file as minimum. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
Staff Pauls Posted September 13, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 13, 2017 Do you get a colour change if you export from DxO as a tiff ?. With DNG you are comparing 2 different raw converters and I wouldn't expect to see the same result. Dxo is applying it's own set of adjustments which Affinity cannot replicate. We have updated the raw handling in the beta is it significanlty different to the retail version for you?
TEcHNOpls
I'll try that Tiff import. Also, I think I didn't had such problems with retail. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
TEcHNOpls
I just tried importing tiff, the shadows are a bit off. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
Staff Pauls Posted September 14, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 14, 2017 In that case the only difference would be down to the monitor profile to check that can you use a default sRGB monitor profile and see if there is any difference with a tif ? TEcHNOpls
I tired some other images exported into tiff from DxO and the imported into AP, and the colors are much closer to what I see in DxO (whereas DNG and CR2 are washed-out and slightly blue tinted). "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
Staff Pauls Posted September 15, 2017 Staff Share Posted September 15, 2017 I wouldn't expect DNG and cr2 to be the same as in Dxo as it will have different processing applied in DxO which we cannot replicate in Affinity Photo. If you want colour accuracy you must use another format
TEcHNOpls
Ok, now I understand more clearly. Then CR2/DNG processing of 6D images is... lacking, washed out, etc. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night, and I work all day..."
