Matthias
Another suggestion: Make any closed bezier shape convertible to a frame text container – if possible thereby maintaining its fill/stroke properties. A generic frame text container would thus also have its own fill/stroke properties which are not identical with the fill/stroke properties of the letters themselves. Staff Ash Posted July 31, 2014 Staff Share Posted July 31, 2014 We've already got Layer -> Convert to text frame. Doesn't give an option to edit fill/stroke of the frame itself vs the fill/stroke of the text (the same as a normal text frame doesn't offer that functionality), at least at the moment... Matthias
Hi Ash, great! Haven’t noticed it before, sorry. One thing, though: I would like being able to see the (irregular shape I am typing in. The way the whole bezier shape selection interface is done right now I just see the damned bounding box without any clue of the actual shape unless I change to the node tool. As I have suggested a few posts earlier I think the standard selection view of any bezier shape should be the path outline and the nodes. Staff Ash Posted July 31, 2014 Staff Share Posted July 31, 2014 Yeah, definitely agree you should be able to see the outline of the shape you are typing in! Staff Dave Harris Posted July 31, 2014 Staff Share Posted July 31, 2014 The outlines were getting drawn until a couple of weeks ago, but someone switched them off. I've switched them back on again.
Staff MattP Posted July 31, 2014 Staff Share Posted July 31, 2014 I switched them off :) I did this because when you were in the text tool you could see the text you were typing and it all had an outline around it which I thought looked very weird! I thought I'd just stopped it drawing in the text tool, but must've stopped it in all tools? :(
