[APu] Text wrapping

Recommended Posts

What do you think of the idea that any element contains text wrapping ability so that the text flow beneath the element can be shaped? Editable in distance of course.

Probably the feature is already in the making because of Affinity Publisher.

Cheers,

Matthias

It already works!... if you're using Affinity Publisher  :P

...and if I mark one of the objects as being avoided by text and save the file, I can open it in Designer and modify the object and all my text magically (and incredibly fluidly) flows around it.

Okay, I'll stop being a tease now...

You can get a sense of the speed in Designer by:

  • Create a Pie shape.
  • Layer/Convert to Text Frame.
  • Edit/Insert Filler Text.
  • Justify (so you can see where both edges are ).
  • Resize, or adjust with the node tool.

Any shape or curve can be made into a text frame. You can draw a large letter 'a', convert it to curves, convert the curve into a text frame, then fill it with text.

Just ran into a need for this today... I make website mockups in Designer, and wrapping paragraphs of text around images is very common in my workflow.

I don't do much print work, so I have no real need to buy Publisher along with Designer.

Can’t wait to see the whole suite.

My impression is that you are the only company being able to somehow kick Adobe’s butt.

pfft funny Amiga software/hardware was able to do it ,and still does for years..furthermore just ,because it says adobe or avid doesn't means its always used..That is brainwashing ,and assumption at its best/worst.

Granted for x86 ..aka mac-pc i think affinity has a chance From what i see, tested IT kicks adobes arse. Now be more like XARA in the distribution of things ,and of course come out with the web affinity.

example of time sharing ..ie non real-time ..non multitasking ,but thanks

Er, that example was in real-time, but your welcome

...,and of course come out with the web affinity.

We don't plan to do a 'web affinity' at the moment.

Not... Not yet. Certainly available as an Affinity Publisher feature.

For Designer you can use this as a temporary solution. But 'available as an publisher feature' is not OK for this kind of simple feature.

BTW the topic changed or it was like this before?
