Edit in Photo… erased progress

Recommended Posts

I think edit in photo is not working. I just spent 2 and a half hours in Designer and needed to make some quick adjustments in Photo. So I clicked "Edit in Photo…" and ZING! everything I'd done for the past 2 and a half hours is gone! I can't believe it's supposed to work this way. Erasing all your progress without a warning and reverting the version you originally opened is nonsensical. Note: neither program crashed. Please help.
Are there any recovery files I can look for?

I can't believe you think you're supposed to work this way! Making progress for two and a half hours solid without doing any intermediate saves is nonsensical. Having said that, I don't recall encountering an issue with "Edit in Photo..." such as you've described.

Hey CharismaPro,

I'm sorry to hear this. It's very easy to work for a couple of hours without realising how much time has gone by. I have personally encountered this same bug whilst working at home on a project which got reported immediately and I believe has been fixed in the beta. I certainly haven't had it since.

That's a fair point, Chris. My apologies to the OP! :$

Is this bug present in both the current Mac & Windows retail versions? I ask because I have never encountered it with the Mac versions.

I believe it is present in the 1.5 Mac/Windows release versions. I requested the app suggests a save before passing the document to the other app but instead we implemented some code that should be able to recover a document if it is lost.

Thanks for the additional info about the bug. I admit I have not always been as diligent as I should be about saving my work, but until the fix is added to the release version, I will try to be extra careful about doing that when switching between the apps.
