How to Commit Gradient for multiple uses on same layer?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to use the gradient tool on a mask layer to fade either side of a photo I'm compositing. I create a gradient on one side, and switch tools to commit it, then when I make another gradient on the other side, it removes/resets the previous gradient and overwrites it with the new one.

Where is the commit gradient button? How to save and get out of the live gradient tool mode?

Also for extra credit, how to make radial gradients?

If you use a New Fill Layer for the gradient and use that as the mask, you will be able to tweak the gradient if you need to later.

Either use one fill layer with multiple stops or you can use 2 (or more) fill layers to achieve what you want to do, or to create other complex effects

Create a gradient and on the context menu at the top of the screen change the Type from Linear to Radial

If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
