Are you able to do a video recording showing the issue please? You don't have any special keyboard or mouse software running that could be interfering do you? I have to manually kill the process. It's easy to get this when you open the slices panels and you scroll a lot. I just provoked the freeze doing just that in beta 1.6.0.82.
