Fill with color

Recommended Posts

I recently downloaded a new font which has a great outline but the middle is all white how do I color the white part without painting the border? I've tried using the the selection brush and then adding color that way but it seems for some reason my selection brush stopped working so how should I go about getting color in there.

Hello Kgsonnyf,

Fist duplicate your text, convert it to curves (Layer -> Convert to Curves), ungroup it (Layer -> Ungroup) and with all the individual letters still selected in the Layers panel, turn it into a single shape (Layer -> Geometry -> Add). This last step is optional. You may want to keep the letters separated or grouped instead.

Put this shape behind your original text and it should fill the "holes" of your letters.

Let me know if you still have trouble with it  ;)

Are you sure that's how I color in a spot. I mean for everything Let's say I have in image and I want to color in one certain spot how should I go about doing that? I also have another question it seems like my pixel persona toolbar doesn't work would you have any idea why this is happening?

Your initial question was about text (which is a vector object) and I've tried to address specifically that issue. You can't generalize it and do the same for everything else. It will not work. Painting over a raster image is a different issue. It's also a very generic question. I can't really help you much without knowing explicitly what you're trying to achieve.

Usually to paint over an image you just need to go to Pixel persona select the Paint Brush tool and start painting over it.

Your problem with the Pixel Persona not working is being addressed in another thread you have created. I will reply there to keep things separated.
