Snap to grid not working

Recommended Posts

Snap to grid is not working. To repdroduce:

  1. Create new document
  2. View -> Show Grid
  3. Enable snapping
  4. Disable everything except Snap to grid
  5. Set Screen tolerance to 50
  6. Try to snap to grid

Basically, other snapping seems to work, but snap to grid doesn't do anything at all.

Affinity 1.5.2.69 on Windows 10.

Snapping does not work on selections

Instead, use a rectangle shape to create your "selection" then CTRL+Click the rectangle's thumbnail in the Layers panel to create a selection from the rectangle

Then delete the rectangle and your selection will remain

Due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now our Prime Minister, punctuation, spelling and grammar will never be worried about ever again.  We now have far bigger problems to be concerned about.

Thanks for the workaround!

Is this something that is going to be fixed for selections? I can't see a reason for why they wouldn't snap like anything else...

It has been requested as a Feature Request in the past, so the Devs are aware of this.  No ETA on when (or if) it will be done.
