Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a couple of aphoto files (350 mb, layered). In my finder I can see a rectangle preview. When I open this files Affinity Photo only shows me the preview, that's it........ :(.

Hi Nickfranken,

What do you mean with "Affinity Photo only shows me the preview"? Aren't you able to see/access all the layers in the Layers panel? What appears there? A single background layer?

Also how are you opening the files? Are you dragging them to an existing blank document or using the File ▸ Open menu?

I double click in finder to open the files. With preview I mean what I see in the icon in finder (it's a screenshot of the picture). I can't show them because of privacy reasons. And yes it is one single background layer.

Right-click one of the .afphoto files in Finder and select Get Info. In the Open with section make sure you have Affinity Photo.app selected - if not select it - (see screenshot below), then click the Change All button right below the dropdown and click the Continue button from the dialog that will appear. Now when you double click an .afphoto file in Finder it should open it in Affinity Photo.
