Staff stokerg Posted August 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 8, 2017 Hi Evtonic3, We have a Perlin Noise filter which is our version of the Difference Cloud filter. It can be found here Filters>Noise>Perlin Noise. It's also covered in the inbuilt help file as well, should you need any more information on how it works. R C-R
In addition to what the AP help file says you may find the "Working with Octaves" section of this article of some use for understanding what the Octave & Persistence sliders do & how they interact. evtonic3
UPDATE: I found what I would call a good option to those searching this filter. I am basing this on a tutorial I saw years ago that used the PS difference clouds filter. Of course there is no direct equivalent in Affinity, but if one uses the Perlin noise filter and changes the blend mode to Negation, it's pretty awesome to use! And with more options! Trying to make lightning and this is slick way to achieve this. Alfred, jer, MEB and 1 other
