UMOKGDABDA
Will the new AD support output of .AI files? Importing them is fine but my clients want their graphics to come to them in .ai format.
Alfred
Export your designs to PDF, change the filename extension from *.pdf to *.ai and then sit back and wait to see whether any of your clients notice the difference! ronnyb and UMOKGDABDA 2 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)
MikeW
And how well the file extension hack works is entirely dependent upon the contents of your file. There are types of effects that while they will be vector in a pdf will be rendered as a bitmap in AI. To what degree this happens is variable and, like mentioned, is dependent on the contents. UMOKGDABDA
Thanks. Direct, accurate .ai export is a feature that one would expect the Serif folks to find useful in sales.
UMOKGDABDA
For the record, I chose the "PDF for Export" option. This appears to turn off rasterization. Again, thanks for the help! Hell, there are no rules here-- we're trying to accomplish something. (Thomas A. Edison) Alfred
