iuri
I know this is supposed to be in my face or very easy to do... but i can't find it, not even in the help section of the app. (affinity 1.6.3) How can i name / rename a file in Affinity (iPad) - version 1.6.3? on the main page, if i click / long-press / swipe on a files thumbnail, it just repositions the file elsewhere. and inside the file, there's only a way to name a file while exporting And how to delete a file? Staff Lee D Posted August 7, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 7, 2017 Hi iuri, Welcome to the forums. On the main screen, tap the small icon to the right of the files thumbnail, from here you can rename and delete. Paul Mudditt

AnneHW
What? I see that small box on the bottom right, but it does not contain “delete.”

toltec
@αℓƒяє∂ I suppose that because it is perhaps never actually saved anywhere, only open in the app's memory, you can't actually delete it, only close it? In fact, if you had saved it somewhere, (like the cloud), close would not delete the file. Ulysses and DM1 2 Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions. Except that if you 'have' saved it, a renamed 'Delete' will not actually delete the afphoto or afdesign file. That may be 'more' confusing. Well, it won’t delete an Affinity document saved to another location, but if you make multiple copies of any kind of file on any OS and then delete the original you don’t expect the copies to disappear! DM1
That's true. But if I open a file from Cloud and return to project screen then, delete the file from project screen the cloud file is still there. Wait isn't that what I had 'open', heck why didn’t it delete when I selected delete. Trying to differentiate between open from and import from is bad enough, given that it doesn’t save edits in all cases. Until all bugs are sorted I reckon there is enough to confuse the average user. LLM
I could not find an icon to the right of the file (v. 1.7.2) so I used File/Save As and renamed it that way.

Your screenshot indicates that you’re using the Windows version of Affinity Photo. This is an iPad thread.
