ripcityhandyman
I am trying to stack multiple Milky Way exposures for noise reduction. The only auto-alignment function I can find is File->New Stack. Is there any way to use this functionality on layers within a document (after I have masked out the foreground on each layer)? I have searched the forums and found a few topics from 2016 about this same issue, but as far as I can tell this is still not possible in Affinity Photo. Is this in the works? Staff MEB Posted August 5, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 5, 2017 Hi ripcityhandyman, Welcome to Affinity Forums No, there's no auto-align functionality for layers within a document other than the option you already discovered through a stack. I don't have enough info to assure you this is being worked but i believe it will be implemented in Photo later. ripcityhandyman
Thanks MEB I will look forward to more news on this. I know it is an important feature to many of us, particularly with astrophotography.
Darius M
I'm looking for something similar as well in 2021. I made a feature request just now: By the way, for your use case I think currently you can do the following: 1. Select multiple layers 2. Menu -> Arrange -> Align layers by stars However my use case is a bit different as I have a set of images without stars that I'm trying to align.
