ARJ
I am having trouble with layering. I tried to make the background layer black and white while keeping the top layer color. Now there is a line/edge around the first layer that is a purple/blue color. I'm not sure how or if I can get rid of it.
toltec
Are you sure it's not just blue ? That sounds like the bounding box indication, when the image is selected. There are handles in the corners and the sides to allow you to resize the layer. Unless it is locked. I moved this one outside the edge to exaggerate it. Just click on the background outside the image area and it will vanish. If you click on the layer again, it will reappear, It wont print or anything. Quote Windows PCs. Staff MEB Posted August 5, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 5, 2017 Hi ajohnson, Welcome to Affinity Forums If it's a purple line go to menu View ▸ Snapping Manager... and uncheck Show snapping candidates. Let me know if this haven't solved your issue. I advise you to change your forum username to something else to prevent spammers from getting your e-mail. ARJ
The Snapping Manager was already off. I used the defringe filter and that only helped a small amount. I'm wondering if it is because I created the layer myself with the selection brush. You have to zoom in pretty close to it to really see the color now. But I thought it would be possible to get rid of it completely. I just don't want the color outline to be more visible if the picture was blown up to put on a canvas or something. Maybe I could do several defringe filters?
Staff MEB Posted August 10, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 10, 2017 Hi ARJ, Any chance you can attach the file here for us to check out. This doesn't seem related with snapping candidates at all. Without seeing the file is difficult to guess to what you are refering to. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
ARJ
This is a close up of the edge. I couldn't get the actual photo to upload on here.

ARJ
This picture is doing the same thing. I does this after I make a new layer.
