Slow to start - both Photo and Designer

Well, if this is basically the only status message I see, then I guess I'm supposed to believe that this is basically the only operation that happens.

Before that status message was added it was obviously doing something, so I don't think it's reasonable to conclude that the absence of a message now means it's doing nothing at all! I think the only thing that has changed is that it used to do several things, none of which were specified, and now it still does the same set of things but tells us about one of them.

Hi Mark,

I hope you will solve the problem with fonts.

I installed AP and AD several dozens of minutes ago, turn on my NexusFont with 5300 fonts and Affinity apps totally go down (start time 2-3 minutes and continuous usage of the processor 25-30% for each app). When I work with Adobe apps i don't have this kind of problem.

I've used Affinity for several version updates. This latest one (1.6.4.104) seems brutally slow to load on a very fast machine. Over two minutes??/ Too long.

Win10 Pro

32 gig RAM

i7 Intel CPU

Should be WAY faster. Loading fonts takes forever ( sure I have a lot)

So confused. I use AP every day at least 2-5 hours. Start up 7 seconds. SO, it takes 2 minutes, what is the big deal? Just start it 2 minutes earlier than you planned, to start right on time!

Enjoy! ;-)
