Superb! When I scrolled down and saw the bottom half of the second one I found myself thinking, "That's a painting?? You're kidding! It looks like a photograph."

Very breathtaking. I like the vintage style, and I noticed each has a theme of warm heart or mysteriousness.

The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!

Hey gdendy,

i used 4 different reference images to create the landscape. One image didn't have the right feel or structure I wanted. So I copied from an image the far background and another for the trees either side of the horse. The waterfall was 2 different images I used as well. I wanted to have a semi dark forest with patches of light leaking in so once I had painted in my background I then started painting in the light. It changes a lot from the initial ref painted background as light bouncing off objects changes the texture. It's almost a repaint, but the dark painted background underneither becomes the shadowed areas. Once I picked my light direction it started to makes sense what objects are effected by the light and what objects are shadowed.

I hope this helped, it's mostly about having fun with it and experimenting with what works.

Im no expert and I'm learning something new with every painting I do. That's the goal for me, which will help me become a better artist. It's all about practice and using the time wisely.

Andy, have you thought about selling your artwork? You would definitely get buyers. I and many others are very appreciative to such art ant and vintage (assuming that's the style you were going for).

Hey Bri-Toon,

Yes I have thought about it, maybe one day I'll setup an online store. I guess Im still trying to improve before going down that road.

But thanks for the vote of confidence it means a lot.

Thanks everyone for checking them out and leaving such motivating comments.

Hey guys,

I thought I'd post a few of my paintings after using Affinity on my new iPad with the Apple Pencil.

Im loving this app for painting on weekends as I use Photoshop on a daily basis for my work as a concept artist/matte painter for film and TV.

Im still getting the hang of it but it's fun.

Andy,

do you use the standard brushes that came with Affinity Photo for the iPad or other third party brushes?

nice work!

Hey AAP,

ATM Im only using the standard circle brush with no texture. I adjust the hardness on the brush to help with the detail. I found the texture brushes didn't respond naturally, maybe that was the sensitivity of the Apple pencil? I really need to look more into creating my own texture brushes. So far I've had no luck with that and importing other 3rd party brushes to try. Maybe you can shed some light into that?

Unfortunately, this version 1.6.2 is unable to duplicate other brushes into a group of my own so it's only the one brush I'm using now.

Amazing. Keep up the good work.

If you go to the brushes and click on the icon that looks like a page, you can create a new category to put your brushes. You can also use the same menu to rename the category. This is also where you will be importing brushes from.

I like importing 3rd party brushes from my DropBox account. It's easy to do.

I attached a screenshot for you to study.

I hope this helps. :)

You would probably like this blender set.

That's great! I've been able to make my own category but can't seem to copy brushes from other categories to mine.   How do you find the performance of the apps texture brushes when painting? Thanks for the brushes!!!

Unfortunately, there is no way to export brushes in AP for iPad to re-import it into another category.

If you create the brushes from scratch from within that category, this may be the way to go for now.

One way around this is to create your brushes on the computer version of AP, add them to your own category, and exporting them to Dropbox. From there you can import them into AP for iPad.
