Quick layer selection

Recommended Posts

Thanks! Selecting all will still make a square selection around the whole canvas.

Say I have a pixel layer and I want to make a selection around just the layer to draw inside it. The only way I have managed to do that is to use one of the selection tools to manually select around the image and then draw inside it.

On the mac, I could just cmd click the layer and it would draw a selection around the pixels in the layer.

The only way I've found to do it, is to go into the channels palette and select the 'Layer Pixel Alpha' for the layer you want to select, then select 'Create Spare Channel', then select the spare channel you just created and select 'Load to Pixel Selection'. It's a long winded way of doing it, but I couldn't find any simple solution. It would be great if it was included as an option in the Layers Palette. Procreate has some simple options like this that make workflow much easier.

Thanks, that's at least a way to do it! Yeah Procreate has a simple way of doing this, it's very useful. Hopefully this is something that can be added in the future.
