nkear003
I created this Evernote note to show the steps I take the problems I have. Goal: I want to edit the font of a mask layer. Problem 1: When I edit the mask, it shows the mask layer alone with a transparent background. I see the point in this, but I would like to know if there is an option to edit the mask, while it is still masking, so that I can see what the final product will look like. Problem 2: When I highlight the text to change the font, it just leaves the edit layer menu, and I am for some reason on a different layer. Any help is much appreciated. R C-R
Mask layers do not have fonts, so I am not quite sure what you mean about editing the font of a mask layer. But for problem 1, you do not have to select "Edit Mask" to edit a mask layer. You can just click once on the mask layer (or its thumbnail if the layer view is collapsed) to select it, & use any of the editing tools that work on masks without hiding everything else. Staff MEB Posted July 27, 2017 Staff Share Posted July 27, 2017 Hi nkear003, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Did you converted the text object to shapes before you created the mask? If so your text is not editable anymore. If not you can use the text object directly as a vector mask - this way the text remains editable even when used as a mask.
