Delete node cut path

Recommended Posts

Until a knife or cut tool comes along, I would love to see a delete node, as in gone feature. Instead of deleting the node and leaving the path closed as is currently, deleting the node and it breaks a hole in the path as far as the next two nodes are located.

Could be with a modifier key... shift delete or option/alt delete. Sure would save a bunch of time.

Current setup breaking the path route is cumbersome and leaves 2 nodes on top of each other, which you need to select and then delete, often selecting the wrong one...

Unless I've misunderstood your description, Kevin, you have three consecutive nodes and you want an option to delete the two adjacent line segments when you delete the middle node. Can't you achieve that quite easily already, by breaking the path at the first and third nodes and then deleting the line segment that you've just isolated?

Sorry Alfred yes that works, I just find it not optimal. So many times I just want to delete a node and have the line broken instead of redrawn.

Ideally I would like to cut the line with some sort of cut or knife tool. One click cut and done.

I am working on a piece now where the lack of a cut tool is making for a lot more work...

Yes, I agree it's not optimal. It would be great to be able to do it in one or two steps instead of six!
