Making background of logo transparent and using the text elsewhere

Recommended Posts

You didn't say if it's Photo or Designer you are using, but If it's Photo go   Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper.

Don't know if Designer does that too?

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

Is your logo a raster (pixel-based) image or composed of vector objects? Which app are you using? The method used to remove the background will depend on both of these things.

Affinity Designer doesn't have filters, so the 'Erase White Paper' option isn't available there, but in either app you can do the following:

1. Select the layer in the Layers panel
2. Click on the 'Blend Ranges' gearwheel next to the padlock icon at the top of the panel
    • The Blend Options dialog will pop up
3. Drag the right-hand end of the 'Source Layer Ranges' graph all the way down
    • The white background will become transparent
    • The rest of the image will become semi-transparent
4. Drag the left-hand end of the 'Source Layer Ranges' graph across to reintroduce the lost opacity into the main image
