When grouping objects the envelope allows resizing and shearing. Is there ever likely to be a group envelope that will allow independent movement of the handles for distortion purposes? Look at the top left corner of the interface just below the Persona icons. 2) That's what the distortion/perspective tools will do, both for single and for (i believe) grouped objects.
