pmeinertz
Hi, My absolutely favourite designs from Porsche Design is their fountain pen, so why not see how AD could some gradient work to render it? Would have been great to have blend curves for this! Br, Philip MattP, Roscografik, Mediafuel and 3 others

ronniemcbride
Sharp render :) A for you curve gradient issue perhaps consider making a custom brush. check out this thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/4376-how-do-a-twist/ and this thread https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/3998-how-to-create-your-own-custom-arrow-stroke-brush-video/ Quote LEARN AFFINITY DESIGNER TODAY. Daemonchile
Awesome work. Not sure I could have the patience to draw something so precise!
pmeinertz
Sharp render :) A for you curve gradient issue perhaps consider making a custom brush. check out this thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/4376-how-do-a-twist/ and this thread https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/3998-how-to-create-your-own-custom-arrow-stroke-brush-video/ Thanks for your advice! I will try a play around with the custom brushes, as it looks easy and very powerfull. As you have seen on some of my AD work I really like to use gradients :-)
Staff MattP Posted February 2, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 2, 2015 Hey, this is very realistic with great attention to detail - as usual! Fantastic use of gradients - must've taken quite some time to get them all working and interacting as required! :)
pmeinertz
Hey, this is very realistic with great attention to detail - as usual! Fantastic use of gradients - must've taken quite some time to get them all working and interacting as required! :) Actually it was not, taking too much time (I think 1 hour in total) :) With "ronniemcbride's" suggestion to use custom brushes it is even faster to do! But still using that way it would be much faster if there had been a blend curves function  Every time I open up AD, I find new ways, and I become much more impressed the maturity AD is at just at version 1, really well done!!!
